Sheetrock and Stucco

Wow, things are speeding along now.  Sheetrock was almost done this afternoon.  They are planning to finish up tomorrow while the tape and float crew starts their work.  We are scheduled to begin interior paint next week already.

Shopping Trip

We had quite a shopping trip.  Spent two evenings at home depot picking out finishes for the house.  I thought I would take a few minutes to post some pics of what we chose.
Pendant lights over bar - there are 3 of these

Bathroom Sinks - we just got 4 of the same one

Ceiling Fans - chose this one for all the bedrooms, and the study

Brazilian Slate - this tile goes on the upstairs balcony floor

light fixture for over the dining room table
you will notice a lot of brushed nickle finishes on what we chose.

Doorbell Chime

Doorbell button

eyeball light fixture - there are 3 of these pointing at a wall in the dining room where a large picture will hang

Floor Tile

Light fixture for foyer

light fixtures inside garage

Sconces for either side of garage door

Garbage disposal

pedistal sink for guest bathroom

hand held shower head - this will go on one of the master bath shower heads

This is one of our favorites from the shopping trip.  most of the house is done in this wood floor.  it is hawaiian koa cherry (sounds like a raspa flavor!)

50 gallon electric hot water heater

kitchen faucet and sprayer

kitchen sink

living room fan - we chose just one of these big modern fans for the great room area

ourdoor patio lights - two upstairs and two downstairs

security lights for around the house

waterproof lights for showers

high efficiency toilets - we'll take 4 please

light for bathroom vanities

There is lots of drywll going up at the actual jobsite.  I went out there today to see, but I forgot my camera.

Brick and Stone

Not much new to report on the house today.  We did pass our next inspection, so the insulation contractor started working this afternoon.  We should have drywall up by the end of the week.  Next week the brick and stone we chose arrives and the bricklayers start working on Wednesday.

We drove out to a house in Rancho Viejo that used our exact combination of Brick and Stone.  The same combination exactly, right down to the color of the mortar.  We thought this would give us a good idea of what our exterior would look like.  We were very pleased...we love the combination.

Can't wait to see how it looks on our house.

Last Day Before Inspection

Today is the last day (Sunday) before a few big inspections have to get done.  All that is left to finish up a little bit of electric and a little bit of roof.
This is the last little bit of roof.  They couldn't put on the shingles until the stucco was done or they would get stucco all over the shingles.

Window sidelights were installed.

Patio doors were installed.

View from rear of house, everywhere you see those little dots, that is stucco.

Closer view

You can see the two A/C units are on the back side of the garage

They installed the lighting  on the second floor patio.

This window is in the upstairs laundry, you can see the dryer vent in the wall. I really like the way the stucco came out.  Now I wish I had done all stucco.

Slow Progress Towards Inspection

We are slowly but surely moving down the list of things that have to get done before our next inspection.  The plumbing is done, electric is almost done but is having to wait for the carpenters to get their work done (same old story with those carpenters).  The insulation sub is on hold until the inspection is over, but we can't have the inspection until the electrical is done.  Some progress though...here are some pics.
First coat of stucco. Ugly green/grey color.

Finish coat of stucco. Much nicer!

I think he did a really nice job on the stucco.

This was supposed to be a door so I could walk into the attic over the garage from the upstairs hallway.  Well the A/C, electrical, and plumbing contractors thought this would be a great place to run all their lines and ducts.  So, now I don't know if this is going to work.  May just have this door sealed off and only have access from the garage pull-down ladder.

My contractor says e might be able to build a catwalk over these lines, but I am not sure it is worth the effort.

All 3 shower liners were installed

AC controls and lines are in place

Just for my records, here is the path for the upstairs AC lines as they run around and over my kitchen.
